For the last two summers we have had the opportunity to produce weddings at The Hitching Post at Rivertown Revival. Born out of the idea of a traditional revival, the event producers brought $5 weddings to their festival in 2011 when they performed 17 weddings for $5 each. In 2012 Kai Squared coordinated 25 ceremonies and this year we had the privilege of being a part of 33 weddings! These "guerilla weddings" are legally officiated marriage ceremonies in addition to our vow renewals and commitment ceremonies for the semi-ambiguous price of $5 per wedding. We have the fun task of designing a wedding site atop a grassy hill from scratch that is beautiful (I mean, this is their wedding day after all!), accessible and fun enough to fit into this amazing party that brings out thousands of party-goers each year.
The annual Festival, Rivertown Revival is produced by our dear friends at Clementine Eco Events and benefits The Friends of the Petaluma River, a wonderful organization that orchestrates education and conservation of Petaluma's water ways. All staff for this festival (including Kai Squared) are volunteers who contribute countless hours to the project and work night and day to build this festival. This year, our friend and photographer Kim Hawkins jumped on board to photograph the Rivertown Revival weddings and we're so glad to share some of those amazing images with you!!
Thank you to all the couples (including a Rea and Dan who drove out from Washington DC to get married at The Hitching Post!) for being a part of this magical day!

The Officially Unofficial Rivertown Revival Certificate of Marriage that reads:
"This certifies that ___________________ and _________________ being of sound body and mind were bound (tightly) in marriage on this day, the 20th of July, 2013.
The ceremony was witnessed without comment or objection by ______________________, and officiated by the right honorable, infallible and mostly sober ______________________________________. "
Denise and Howie exchanged vows with one another and with their daughter Chloe.
Eldean and Dave renewed their vows on their 30th Anniversary surrounded by their entire original wedding party (including their flower girls!) below.
Rivertown Revival is a green, zero waste event, so we created a couple sustainable bouquets and boutonnières for our couples to use for their ceremonies.
Hannah and Ben were united in marriage, along with their daughter Luna, by Senator Noreen Evans. Check out the video of their beautiful ceremony captured by Thomas Harrigan here!
Jim and Leenie were married along the banks of the Petaluma River 55 years before they renewed their vows at The Hitching Post.
