We had the opportunity this last weekend to style a graduation party. We met with the graduates mother, who was throwing the party in honor of her daughter, to determine what kind of event they were hoping for. With their beautiful backyard, it was a dreamy setting for a garden party in honor of the graduate. Kiri and I created some custom décor that incorporated the school's colors (Black, White and Gold) and mascot (the Penguins) but that still felt light, jovial and celebratory. We hope you enjoy the images! Thank you to the Allen Family for allowing us to capture this beautiful event.
These windows have gotten some serious mileage since we salvaged them last summer. We have had the opportunity to incorporate them into a couple events and love them more with each event they are featured in.
We created a custom fabric banner to cover a large and less than party-ready wall where we wanted to stage the beverage bar. The ribbon banner is over 7 feet tall and 12 feet long (phew!) and pulled in the colors of the University as well as some lightness, movement and fun.
There was a long, empty gate on the opposite side of the yard that we decided to cover with some (ahem, about 100+) fun tissue paper tassels. These tassels have been a go-to for us for outdoor events as they really move with the breeze and are really cost efficient.
The graduates favorite dessert spot is Sift Cupcakes & Desserts, and they (as always) did an amazing job with the sweets for this event.
A couple views of the party, layout that we took as we slipped out the door to allow the guests to enjoy the celebration.
